Contracts scale with the number of monitored assets and the retention period for log data that second variable surprises most first-time buyers.

As a compliance engagement. GRC work, penetration testing and audit support are usually scoped as fixed-fee projects rather than monthly retainers, then renewed annually.

Compliance is the largest single cost driver. A twenty-person firm under CMMC or HIPAA obligations will pay meaningfully more than a twenty-person firm with no regulatory exposure, because the documentation and evidence requirements are continuous.
